Child Care and Nutrition


Hillsborough County Extension offers Child Nutrition classes that cover topics such as:

  • The nutritional needs of children
  • How to manage picky eaters
  • Special nutritional needs
  • Teaching and practicing food safety with small children in mind

Please join our child nutrition e-mail list to keep up with local classes and events.

In addition, we offer monthly child nutrition newsletters for the parents of small children, in both English and Spanish. These newsletters offer a wealth of nutrition and health information, as well as food-related activities for parents to do with the children.

Another monthly newsletter for teachers and classroom staff offers activities for teaching nutrition basics to small children. Sign up for our Child Care Provider newsletter.

Classes in Spanish can be arranged with enough advanced notice.
